Dassia is a beautiful village located 13km from Corfu Town, making it just a ten minute drive away. Right in front of the village is a beach that stretches for about 2 kilometres, boasting a great view of the Albanian coast just across the sea. There are a multitude of fantastic restaurants to dine at in this area, so how do you possibly decide where to enjoy a post swim lunch or a sunset dinner? We’ve compiled a list of the best places to eat in Dassia, offering you a range of options to choose from. Most of these recommendations are focused on providing you an authentic dining experience, so you can enjoy the fantastic traditional food on offer in Dassia.
We believe that a sure fire way to judge a restaurant serving local food, is whether or not the establishment is popular with the locals themselves. To Kastro certainly ticks this box. The food here is very authentic, with gyros pittas starting at just €2.20. You can expect big portions, meaning you will find that you get great value for your money. The interior of the restaurant is clean and modern, and the staff here are friendly yet discreet. We recommend the shared mixed grill.
This restaurant is situated on the main road connecting Ipsos to Dassia. They offer a range of burgers, sandwiches and salads, all coming in at around €5-€7. These burgers are some of the best we’ve ever tasted, using good quality meat and fresh ingredients. From the outside, this place looks a little nondescript, but you would be a fool to let this deter you. Check out their Facebook page or website for (more) photos of their offerings, as they will be sure to entice you.
Situated in the centre of Dassia overlooking the harbour, Leonidas Grill is a typical Greek taverna. Like To Kastro, Leonidas Grill is very popular with the locals. If you’re staying in Dassia, you’re bound to receive a recommendation for this restaurant. The grilled meat is wonderful, we particularly recommend the chicken, which is always deliciously succulent. The place is often busy, with locals and tourists alike. Despite this, the service is friendly and quick. We guarantee that if you visit once, you’ll certainly be back for more.
Located along the same road as Sandwich Lab, this restaurant is really worth checking out during a visit to Dassia Corfu. This is a family run business, and the staff here are very friendly and attentive. Should you have any dietary requirements, they are eager to help offer you options. Castello offers a selection of authentic Greek food, and we highly recommend you try the stuffed tomatoes and peppers. Like our other recommendations for best places to eat in Dassia, you will find your bill surprisingly low at the end of the night.
La Casa Mediterranean
This restaurant is a husband and wife run business, with Christina running the front of house whilst her husband cooks a range of traditional Greek and Mediterranean dishes. This is a great place for big groups and romantic dinners alike. The quality of food here is excellent, but the prices remain reasonable. We would recommend you try the moussaka, as it’s one of the best we’ve tried. The décor of the restaurant is modern and tasteful, creating a lovely ambience. If you do plan to eat here, we suggest you take cash, as the card machine seems to sometimes be faulty.
