As one of the most cosmopolitan of the Greek islands, Corfu is popular for it’s fantastic nightlife scene. Kavos, in the south of the island, is known as the place to find plenty of clubs and bars, where you can drink until you can’t remember your own name. Think Ibiza, but less of a rip off.
However, spot is particularly notorious as a destination for a typical “lads holidays”. For some, this makes it less appealing. We’ve put together a list of the best places to party in Corfu, which you are perhaps less likely to have heard of.
Paleokastritsa, the best of corfu nightlife with amazing views
Situated in the northwest of Corfu, Paleokastritsa is perhaps one of the most picturesque destinations on the island. It is surrounded by impressive cliffs, making for stunning scenery and a calm, clear sea. Whilst Paleokastritsa isn’t by any stretch the busiest place on the island, there are a selection of very special bars which make it a great place to party in Corfu. Our favourite spot is La Grotta, a hidden gem nestled into the cliff, overlooking a beautiful blue lagoon. This bar first opened in the late 1960s, when the Rizos hotelier family decided to develop an existing cave into the bar that exists there today. This place is an iconic place to party in Corfu, with a DJ playing a great selection of music throughout the day. An added addition is that it’s the perfect place to enjoy the sea, as there are places to jump in from the cliff, as well as a diving board. It really is the perfect way to enjoy both the scenery and a good party. Another great spot, with perhaps the best view of across Paleokastrista, is Acapulco Pool Bar. The garden area is a great place to relax with a cocktail in one of their hammocks or on a sunlounger. The close proximity to the sea means you can take regular dips, or alternatively enjoy their swimming pool, all whilst enjoying magnificent views of the steep cliffs and turquoise waters. They regularly host parties in the evening, whether it be a disco night or a 70s night.
Corfu Town, Best Place for live music
Corfu Old Town is bustling with energy and activity. There are a variety of bars, many offering life music. The Square of Liston and the Esplanade are great places to enjoy a drink, as-well as the plenitude of bars along the small streets that make up the city. Situated in the nearby port, there are many bars and clubs, which a attract large numbers of people looking to party in Corfu. The aforementioned Esplanade is particularly popular in the summer, when they hold frequent concerts, many of which are free to attend.
Dassia and Ipsos, great area to party in cOrfu
Located just 2 km apart, both Dassia and Ipsos are great places to visit to experience Corfu nightlife. Ipsos has many a lively bar, and a few nightclubs. All along the beach there are plenty of restaurants where you can sit back and watch the world go by. Check out our recommendations for best places to drink in Ipsos. Dassia is quieter than Ipsos, so if it’s nightclubs and bars that you’re want then Ipsos might be better suited to you. That being said, Dassia has a selection of great bars and a few lively disco bars where you can party into the early hours. Both destinations boast fantastic views of the Albanian coastline, across the turquoise stretch of the Ionian sea.
Sidari, Best place to find something for everyone
The nightlife in Sidari is arguable some of the best on the island. As the day turns to night, this small resort comes alive. Many of the bars stay open into the early hours, offering great music and a fun and lively atmosphere. It has a reputation for being one of the best spots in Corfu to enjoy some karaoke, so if this is something you’re after, we recommend that you check Sidari out. There are also some quieter restaurants and tavernas, or alternatively many a beach bar to choose from. This means there really is something for everyone.
Situated in the north of Corfu, the nightlife in Acharavi is varied and abundant. It’s not the liveliest of our recommendations, but there are are a myriad of bars meaning that there is plenty of variation in choice. Some of the hotels and bars in the area of different entertainment options, such as quiz or karaoke nights. We recommend visiting Fuego bar, where they serve delicious cocktails which you can enjoy whilst listening to a set from the inhouse DJ. An added bonus is that this establishment is situated right on the beach front, so expect to see some stunning sunsets. Every Sepmtember, located a short drive away from Acharavi, you will find the Arillas wine festival. Pay just €3 for a carafe which you can then fill with wine as often as you like!
